Does NIS2 apply to you, and how well prepared are you?

Three questions on whether it applies, six on the key minimum measures. Germany’s NIS2 implementation act has applied since December 2025, and many customers require the measures from their suppliers too.

Part 1: Does it apply?

Which sector does your company operate in?
How large is your company, including affiliated companies?
Do you supply companies or public bodies that are themselves subject to NIS2?

Part 2: Minimum measures

Is multi-factor sign-in set up for email, remote access and administrator accounts?
Is there a backup kept separate from the network, and was restoring it tested in the last year?
Is there an emergency plan for a cyber attack, including the reporting route?
Do you know all systems, accounts and service providers, and are updates installed promptly?
Are employees and management trained in IT security regularly?
Are your IT service providers contractually bound to security measures and incident reporting?

This assessment does not replace a legal review. Clarify applicability bindingly with the BSI’s NIS-2 applicability check and your legal advisers.
