Project practice

Challenge. Contribution. Transferability.

Selected project contexts from technology, industry, insurance and education. We show what we did and what can be transferred from it.

Project practice from past and ongoing consulting engagements (1996–2026).

KESO Sicherheitstechnik

Seven-figurerevenue in the first year after the shop launch

Challenge

Orders from sales partners traditionally came in by telephone. The goal was to move them as completely as possible into a B2B online shop without losing the partners.

Contribution

Concept for the B2B online shop and implementation together with the partner Beckerat Medien. Focus: ease of use in the daily ordering process and a discount system with better prices than in the previous ordering channels.

Result

Sales partners now order online instead of by telephone. According to the project description, the ordering process produced substantial savings, which have not been quantified.

Transferability

An online shop does not replace a channel, it has to make it better. Usability decides acceptance in everyday use, a transparent price advantage creates the incentive to switch. Success should be measurable in revenue and process costs.

Publishing · Managed hosting & cloud

Fidula Verlag

1996Start of collaboration, continuing to this day
1,000+pieces of music and scores on the cloud platform

Challenge

Fidula Verlag, a traditional publisher of music education, needed a digital foundation that could grow with it.

Contribution

Website and one of the first online shops in Germany, including ongoing development, managed hosting of the event website, a cloud-based platform for pieces of music and scores, marketing consulting on positioning the publisher's programme, development of download portals and interim marketing leadership (2015–2016).

Result

A collaboration spanning around 30 years. Today the platform is part of the publisher's core digital offering.

Transferability

Digital projects last longer when they are designed for change. An online shop is the beginning of a digital strategy, not its end, and managed services build trust beyond the individual project.

Insurance · Hosting & marketing communications

BWB-Gruppe

2008Start of collaboration
3corporate constellations survived

Challenge

In the insurance environment, personal trust and clear communication count. BWB-Gruppe needed a digital presence that fits its sales approach, and support with marketing communications.

Contribution

Implementation of the company websites including hosting, support with trade fair presences and print materials, and advice on marketing communications. In 2013 followed the joint founding of lightparc GmbH, in 2015 the strategic separation.

Result

BWB-Gruppe remains a client. As an owner-operated brand, lightparc today looks after hosting and marketing communications. No measurable key figures have been published.

Transferability

Hosting and communications work when they are managed together. Trust lasts longer than a single contract.

Industrial lubricants · Customer magazine & training

ExxonMobil

10,000copies per issue, 4 times a year
5markets: DACH, UK, Spain, Italy, France

Challenge

In the industrial lubricants field, ExxonMobil needed a format that regularly informs about technology, sponsorships and news and supports sales in customer conversations.

Contribution

Concept for the quarterly customer magazine LubeWorld with responsibility for editorial and production, support for expansion into further markets, folders and training content for sales, and around four training series a year.

Result

The format ran for eight years (2001–2009) and was then brought to an orderly close.

Transferability

Technical depth makes a format relevant to customers. A format that works can be scaled internationally, and individual articles can be reused as sales material.

Education · Social media monitoring

Kühne Logistics University

Worldwidesignificantly more new enrolments after the campaign, no figure stated

Challenge

The university wanted to know how it is perceived on the user-generated web: which topics are discussed, what the tone is and how the picture differs from that of competitors.

Contribution

Share-of-voice and sentiment analysis with defined sources, search terms and competitors. The analysis showed that students worldwide were already sharing photos with university merchandise. This led to the recommendation to reinforce this behaviour with selfies and a common hashtag.

Result

The campaign led to a significant increase in new enrolments worldwide. The work dates from an earlier engagement; there is no current client relationship.

Transferability

First check what is already happening before developing something new. Share of voice and sentiment complement each other, and existing behaviour is a strong foundation for campaigns.
